On Sunday, 29 March 2020, in the afternoon at 13:05, in Marijampolės municipality, on V. Kudirkos street, at the junction with Jono Dailidės street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Renault Espace. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (5.12‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
