On Friday, 26 August 2016, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Kaunas, on Elektrėnų street near No. 1, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Renault Clio and a Volvo V50. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Renault (30 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
