On Wednesday, 2 November 2016, in the morning at 6:40, in Kaunas, on Tunelio street near No. 6, a Seat Toledo hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 29-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 6-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Seat (10 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
