On Tuesday, 20 December 2016, at night at 0:47, in Radviliškio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 57.01), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW X Reihe and an Opel Vivaro. Two people died — the 37-year-old driver of the BMW and a 34-year-old passenger of the BMW (later died from the injuries). Two people were injured — the 47-year-old driver of the Opel (hospitalized) and a 41-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
