On Monday, 9 January 2017, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 96.10), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 and a DAF FT XF105.460 registered in Russia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Audi (16 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
