On Saturday, 18 February 2017, in the evening at 21:40, in Kaunas, on A. Kriščiukaičio street near No. 14, a Peugeot 306 ran off the road. One person died — the 20-year-old driver of the Peugeot. One person was injured — a 19-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
