On Thursday, 20 April 2017, in the morning at around 6:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 120.85), an Audi A6 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Audi (4 years of driving experience), who was driving fatigued, failed to choose a safe speed and fell asleep at the wheel. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
