On Thursday, 27 April 2017, in the afternoon at 16:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 27), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a DAF FT XF95 registered in Poland, a Koegel SN 24 registered in Poland, a Volkswagen Bora and a Volkswagen Transporter. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the DAF (23 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. The 33-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Transporter was drunk. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
