On Friday, 30 June 2017, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kaunas, on A. Baranausko street near No. 19, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Subaru Impreza and a Toyota Yaris. One person was injured — a 27-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Subaru (5 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet.
