On Tuesday, 20 June 2017, in the evening at 18:19, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 25.95), a DAF registered in Russia hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the DAF (18 years of driving experience). He was drunk (2.28‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
