On Monday, 10 July 2017, at night at 1:40, in Kaunas, on P. Plechavičiaus street near No. 27, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Ford Transit FT 300 and a Toyota Corolla Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Ford (19 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (3.26‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
