On Monday, 24 July 2017, in the evening at 18:55, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 123.30), a BMW 318 I registered in Latvia rolled over. Two people were injured — the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (hospitalized) and a 28-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
