On Thursday, 12 October 2017, in the morning at 7:28, in Kaunas, on A. Baranausko street near No. 13, at the junction with Studentų street, a Toyota Auris hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Toyota (22 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet.
