On Friday, 10 November 2017, in the evening at around 19:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) national road (kilometre 218), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4, a Nissan Tiida and an Audi. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Audi A4, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.72‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
