On Wednesday, 10 January 2018, in the evening at around 20:00, in Utenos district municipality, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno, Užpalių street, a Renault Clio hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 18-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Renault (5 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
