On Tuesday, 16 January 2018, in the morning at 7:55, in Kaunas, on Bernardinų Plytinės street, at the junction with J. Borutos street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 Avant and an Opel Insignia Sports Tourer SW. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
