On Friday, 9 February 2018, in the afternoon at 14:48, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 23), a Peugeot 306 ran off the road. One person was injured — a 27-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.04‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
