On Saturday, 26 May 2018, in the afternoon at 16:58, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Marijampolė–Liudvinavas–Krosna national road (kilometre 7.70), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Volvo XC90. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
