On Friday, 8 June 2018, in the evening at 22:50, in Kaunas, on Studentų street, at the junction with A. Baranausko street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 and a Lexus GS 300. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Audi (less than a year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.32‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
