On Saturday, 9 June 2018, in the afternoon at 15:20, in Pagėgių municipality, Anužių village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 151), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi A8 and a BMW 318. Three people were injured — a 45-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and a 12-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Audi (14 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (0.26‰ blood alcohol). A 30-year-old passenger of the Audi was drunk (0.07‰). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
