On Thursday, 4 January 2024, in the afternoon at 11:47, in Pagėgių municipality, Rukų village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 152), a Mitsubishi Colt ran off the road. One person died — the 28-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
