On Thursday, 21 June 2018, at night at 2:50, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street, at the junction with Taikos pr., a Mercedes-Benz C270 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.65‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
