On Saturday, 14 July 2018, in the evening at 22:16, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Alytus–Simnas–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 5), a Mercedes-Benz A170 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober.
