On Sunday, 22 July 2018, in the evening at around 22:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 11.02), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault Megane Scenic and a Peugeot 206. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Renault (3 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
