On Thursday, 16 August 2018, in the afternoon at 15:10, in Šilalės district municipality, on J. Basanavičiaus street near No. 17, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW and an Audi A6 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (6 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
