On Friday, 7 September 2018, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 10.10), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz and a Seat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 66-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (50 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
