On Wednesday, 14 November 2018, in the evening at 17:30, in Kaunas, on Europos pr., at the junction with Kalvarijos street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a car and a Mini Cooper. One person was injured — the 19-year-old driver of the Mini (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 74-year-old driver of a car (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
