On Friday, 21 December 2018, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 116.69), a Volkswagen Transporter ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (10 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
