On Sunday, 20 January 2019, in the afternoon at 12:58, in Kėdainių district municipality, Būdų village, on the Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai main road (kilometre 43.06), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 406 and a Mercedes-Benz Vito 112 registered in Estonia. Two people died — the 21-year-old driver of the Peugeot and a 46-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz. One person was injured — the 51-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Peugeot (3 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. Both drivers were sober.
