On Monday, 18 February 2019, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kauno district municipality, Kumpių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 103.50), a BMW 645 registered in Great Britain hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the BMW (6 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
