On Friday, 30 August 2024, in the evening at 17:28, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 104), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault Premium 380 registered in Ukraine, a Lohr registered in Ukraine, a MAN TGX and a Schmitz Cargobull. One person was injured — a 34-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Renault (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
