On Sunday, 24 February 2019, in the morning at around 5:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 4), a Volkswagen Caravelle registered in Bulgaria rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 63-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (25 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
