On Saturday, 13 July 2019, in the afternoon at 12:52, in Telšių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 56.20), a BMW rolled over. Two people were injured — the 22-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 23-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.66‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 23-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (1.78‰). At the time of the accident it was raining, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
