On Thursday, 11 July 2024, in the evening at 22:40, in Kauno district municipality, Sausinės village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 111), in a roadworks zone, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a DAF, a Schmitz Cargobull and a Volkswagen NEW Beetle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the DAF (33 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
