On Sunday, 27 October 2019, in the evening at 19:55, in Kaunas, on S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno street near No. 19, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Renault Megane. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.53‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
