On Sunday, 2 February 2020, in the evening at 18:27, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 26.15), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Transporter, an Audi A3, an Audi Q5, a trailer/semi-trailer 0.75–3.5 t, a Toyota Prius and a Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI. Three people were injured — the 19-year-old driver of the Audi A3 (treated as an outpatient), a 20-year-old passenger of the Audi A3 (treated as an outpatient) and a 26-year-old passenger of the Audi A3 (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (42 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
