On Monday, 11 May 2020, in the afternoon at 16:55, in Telšių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 67), a Scania R 480 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Scania (24 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.48‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was raining, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
