On Monday, 25 May 2020, in the evening at 18:40, in Birštono municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 92), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault Megane Scenic and a Chrysler Sebring. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Renault, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.48‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
