On Wednesday, 26 April 2023, in the evening at 17:25, in Birštono municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 92.30), an Opel ran off the road. One person was injured — the 29-year-old driver of the Opel (hospitalized). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
