On Wednesday, 10 June 2020, in the afternoon at 16:25, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 20.90), a Fiat Ducato hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 51-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Fiat (41 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
