On Sunday, 2 August 2020, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 40), a collision while turning right occurred. The collision involved an Audi Q7 and a BMW 330 XD. Four people were injured — a 29-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), a 26-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and a 30-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Audi (9 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
