On Sunday, 16 August 2020, at night at 23:58, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 21), a BMW 535 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW 535 (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
