On Wednesday, 26 August 2020, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 93), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a MAN TGX, a trailer/semi-trailer > 10 t and a Toyota Yaris. One person was injured — a 65-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the MAN (21 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
