On Saturday, 30 April 2022, in the evening at 19:58, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 95), a Honda CBR 600 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 61-year-old pedestrian. One person was injured — the 20-year-old driver of the Honda (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by a 61-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing the carriageway outside a crossing where there are vehicle or pedestrian barriers. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
