On Thursday, 27 August 2020, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Plungės district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 97), an Opel Zafira hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 80-year-old driver of the Opel (35 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
