On Friday, 11 September 2020, in the evening at 20:25, in Marijampolės municipality, on Geležinkelio street near No. 20, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6, an Opel Vectra, a BMW 5ER Reihe and a Honda CR-V. Two people were injured — a 18-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt) and the 18-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Audi (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
