On Tuesday, 3 November 2020, in the evening at 20:45, in Šilalės district municipality, Iždonų village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 220.50), a Skoda Superb hit an obstacle. One person was injured — a 11-year-old passenger of the Skoda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Skoda (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
