On Thursday, 20 May 2021, at night at 23:37, in Šilalės district municipality, Iždonų village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 220.20), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.89‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 32-year-old passenger of the Audi was drunk (1.32‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
