On Friday, 20 November 2020, in the morning at 6:45, in Jonavos district municipality, Jonalaukio village, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 34.05), a vehicle hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 61-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
