On Tuesday, 1 December 2020, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 14.99), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 and an Audi 80. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the Audi A6, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
